Welcome, and how to use this kit This kit gives you everything you need to market your advisory service: the story, the language, and the templates, emails, posts and scripts you can put to work this week. It is built on the Clarity positioning, so every word here points in the same direction, toward the outcomes a business owner actually wants. More money, more time, more freedom. It is written for three readers. If you are weighing up Clarity, it shows you what marketing advisory looks like when it is done well. If you have just joined, it is your fast start. And if you have been with us for a while, it is a refresh of the language and a library you can keep coming back to. How the kit works Each section follows the same rhythm. A short explanation of why the channel matters and how to use it, then ready-to-use content underneath. The strategy and the assets sit together on purpose, so you can understand the thinking and still deploy something today. Look for Tip boxes for quick wins, Copy & Paste boxes for content you can lift straight out, and Checklists for step-by-step actions. One rule above all A word on your brand, and ours A brand is more than a logo, a set of words and a few colors. It is the culture and character of your firm. So treat every template here as a starting point, not a script. Where the words are not authentically yours, say it in your own voice. The structure does the heavy lifting; the personality is yours to add. START HERE If the kit feels like a lot, go straight to Section 15: Your 90-Day Plan. It sequences everything so you build momentum without trying to do it all at once. THE ONLY TEST THAT MATTERS Every piece of marketing you put out should answer one question from the business owner's point of view: what's in it for me? If a sentence talks about what you do rather than what changes for them, rewrite it or cut it. Marketing Kit 3 On our marks: “Clarity” and the Clarity logo are registered trademarks of Clarity Operations Limited. Three reads that will sharpen everything you do This kit gives you the what and the how. These three give you the why, and they will make every campaign you run land harder. ▪ Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller. The clearest framework for making the business owner the hero and your firm the guide. Section 3 builds your message on it. ▪ They Ask, You Answer by Marcus Sheridan. The content philosophy behind Section 7: answer the questions your clients are already asking, and you become the firm they find. ▪ The Drift by Aynsley Damery. The seven reasons businesses quietly erode, and the case for the Numbers Mentor. It is the backbone of the story you are about to tell. Getting more help This is a general guide. We go into the principles in more detail at our NextGen Accelerator (our flagship three-day workshop on how to market, price, sell, and deliver advisory), which, from a marketing perspective, covers audience, marketing funnels, events, and StoryStruct. We also cover all topics in much greater detail at Academy. Speak to our member success team about the next Accelerator event. Marketing Kit 4 2. The story you tell: from accountant to Numbers Mentor Before you write a single post or email, you need the story underneath it. Get this right, and the rest of the kit writes itself, because every channel is just a different way of telling the same truth. Why owners start, and what happens next Almost nobody goes into business for a spreadsheet. They start with a dream and a bit of nerve: more control, more money, more freedom, the chance to do it their way. The early energy is real. Then, for most, the business slowly turns on them. They work longer hours for a thinner reward. Small businesses are the backbone of every developed economy, and yet their survival rates are poor: around 60% fail within the first decade, a number that has not moved in a generation despite more tools, more data and more advice than ever. They rarely fail in a dramatic moment. They drift. Small businesses don't collapse. They erode. Margins thin by a point a year. Cash gets tighter a week at a time. The owner is working twice as hard for half the reward, and cannot point to the day it went wrong, because there wasn't one. The seven reasons businesses drift In The Drift, Aynsley names the seven patterns behind that erosion. They are the seven conversations your marketing can open, and the seven problems your advisory solves. 1. They have no model. No clear picture of how a sale becomes a profit, so decisions are made blindly. 2. They try to serve everyone and specialize in nothing. Saying yes to everything quietly erodes margin, expertise, and pricing power. 3. They don't get the numbers. They don't receive them often enough, and don't understand them when they do. 4. The owner is the ceiling. The business can only grow as far as one person's bandwidth, and bandwidth runs out. 5. They don't know what their customers actually value. So they price based on cost and competitors, and leave margin on the table. 6. Nobody holds them to account. Decisions get made in isolation and abandoned in isolation. 7. They manage cash by feel, not by flow. Cash is the last symptom of the other six compounding, and when the gap opens far enough, the end comes fast. Marketing Kit 5 The gap you step into Here is the uncomfortable part. Your clients are already having advisory conversations. Just not with you. They are with a business coach who bought a franchise six months ago and has never seen a set of accounts. Or with ChatGPT, open on their phone at 11 pm, asking whether to take on that contract or make that hire. Meanwhile, the one person who can see everything, the cash, the margins, the trends, the risk, is sending a report nobody reads. That is the gap. And it is yours to close. The role: the Numbers Mentor The answer is not to become a consultant or a coach. It is to step into the role the profession was always meant for. We call it the Numbers Mentor. The word “accountant” contains the word “account”: to account for something is to explain it and to hold someone answerable for it. The Numbers Mentor is simply the accountant who does both. A Numbers Mentor diagnoses before prescribing. They start with the data, not the advice. And they work on two axes at once: support (through the numbers, the reassurance, the context) and challenge (on the decisions, the accountability, the follow-through). Most accountants only ever operate on the support axis, because the old model never gave them the structure or the permission to challenge. The mentor who supports and challenges in equal measure becomes the most valuable person in the client's business life, and the hardest to replace. What you are really selling Not accounting. Not even advisory. A better business, one that works for the owner instead of the other way around. You help business owners understand their numbers, make better decisions, and build the business and the life they actually wanted when they started. Lead with that everywhere, and the frameworks become the proof, not the pitch. THE ONE CONNECTED SYSTEM Everything in this kit hangs off a single chain. The 7 Reasons are the patterns of drift. The 7 Key Numbers are the signals those patterns leave in the data. The 5 Levers of Success are the actions that reverse the drift. The CLEAR Advisory Map is how you run the conversation. And the Numbers Mentor is the person who does it. Reasons, Numbers, Levers, CLEAR, Mentor. Keep them connected in your marketing and the story stays whole. Marketing Kit 6 3. Your messaging and language This section is the language engine for everything else: who you are talking to, the words that work, and a simple way to build your own message so it sounds like you and still sells. Know who you are talking to Your marketing speaks to owner-managed businesses, typically turning over somewhere between quarter/half a million and ten million. You can recognize them by their situation, not by flattering adjectives: ▪ They are working in the business, not on it, and can't step away without things slipping. ▪ Revenue is growing, but profit isn't keeping pace, and cash feels tighter than the profit suggests it should. ▪ They have no clear plan for growth, and no idea what the business is worth or whether it could ever be sold. ▪ They suspect their current accountant only looks backward. Lead with their situation, then position your advisory as the bridge from where they are to where they want to be. Talk about their world before you talk about your service. Marketing Kit 7 Language that works, and language to avoid The wrong word makes you sound like every other firm. The right word makes you sound like the movement you are part of. Use this as your everyday reference. Don't say Say instead Software / platform / app System / framework / methodology Dashboards / reports Insights / action plans / changing what happens next Sell advisory Create a buying experience your clients want Trusted advisor / business advisor Numbers Mentor KPIs / metrics / data The 7 Key Numbers / the 5 Levers of Success Upsell / cross-sell Deepen the relationship / expand the engagement We add value We help you see your choices earlier, while there is still room to act Management accounts Your 7 Key Numbers, the numbers that drive your business Book a meeting Book your free Business Diagnostic Review THE OUTCOME WORDS When in doubt, translate features into the three things every owner actually wants: more money, more time, more freedom. “We prepare quarterly forecasts” means nothing to them. “You will know, a year ahead, exactly what to change to put more cash in your pocket” means everything. Marketing Kit 8 The frameworks, in plain English You don't market the mechanics. But you do reference them, because they prove you have a method, not just an opinion. Here is how to talk about each one. Shape your story: the 3 A's This is the heart of the Market stage in the NextGen Advisory system. Get the story right, and every page, post, and email writes itself. Three things make it land, and we call them the 3 A's. That casting matters. The moment your marketing makes your firm the hero, it stops working. Keep the owner in the lead role, and make yourself the expert at their side. Framework How you use it in marketing The 7 Key Numbers The handful of numbers that actually decide a business's future: Revenue Growth, Gross Profit %, Operating Profit %, Revenue per Employee, Cash Days, Core Cash Target and Business Return. A powerful hook, owners are curious which seven they should watch. The 5 Levers of Success The five things you can actually pull to change the result: Revenue, Gross Profit %, Operating Profit %, Revenue per Employee and Cash Days. Each one is a campaign theme. The CLEAR Advisory Map Your visible method: Current, Leaderboard, Endgame, Actions, Review. It makes advisory tangible on a website, in a meeting, on a slide. Business Diagnostic Review Your free entry point (also called the Clarity Meeting). Every piece of marketing ultimately points here. Hartley The AI advisory assistant your clients get from your firm, that actually knows their numbers. Your differentiator against generic AI (see Section 13). The 3 A's What it means Audience Write for the owner, not for yourself. Every line should speak to their world, not your capabilities. Their pain, their goals, their language. The guide You are the guide, not the hero. The owner is the hero of their own story. You are the Numbers Mentor who helps them reach the destination. Arc Every piece of content follows the same arc: the challenge (where they are), the journey (what needs to change), and the outcome (where they could be). Marketing Kit 9 Your one-liner Before the long-form copy, nail one sentence you can say in a lift, on a profile, at the top of a page. Build it from four parts, and resist the urge to mention accounts, tax or compliance. Structure the conversation: the 4 O's When you move from marketing to a real conversation, the 4 O's keep you outcome-led and confident, on a page, on a call or in a meeting. COPY & PASTE · YOUR ONE-LINER 1. Who you help Your ideal client (the avatar): the type of owner, sector and size you serve best. 2. The problem they feel The real, emotional pain: working too hard for too little, no plan, cash always tight. 3. What you provide The transformation, in plain words. Not accounts or tax. A business that finally works for them. 4. The outcome you deliver More profit, healthier cash, time back, real value. Worked example: “We help owner-managed [trades / professional services / e- commerce] businesses who are working flat out for too little turn their numbers into a clear plan, so they make more profit, free up cash and win back their time.” The 4 O's What it means Outcomes Lead with outcomes, not services. Owners don't buy advisory, they buy the result of it: more cash, more time, more confidence. Options Offer a choice of engagement levels so the owner feels in control and can self-select the right level of support. Outline Outline the journey month by month, not just the deliverables, so they can see the value unfold over time. Offer Make a clear, confident recommendation, based on what you have heard. Not a tentative suggestion. THE UNIVERSAL OPENER The single best question to open any advisory conversation: “What's the one thing you want more of, cash, time, or headspace?” It puts the owner's outcome at the center from the first sentence. Marketing Kit 10 Your positioning statement Use this as the foundation for your homepage, your LinkedIn summary and any “about us” copy. Keep the structure, change the voice. COPY & PASTE · POSITIONING STATEMENT [Firm name] helps ambitious business owners build a business that works for them. As your Numbers Mentor, we turn your numbers into a clear plan, so you make more profit, free up cash, win back time, and build real value in the business. It starts with a free Business Diagnostic Review: a focused session where we find exactly where your biggest opportunities are. Marketing Kit 11 4. Your marketing funnel Everything in this kit sits inside one part of the NextGen Advisory system: the Engage pillar, and specifically its Market stage. Marketing is run there as a repeatable rhythm called the MESSAGE system, and the funnel is the spine that connects it all. Before you start posting and emailing, it helps to see how a stranger becomes a client, so every channel has a job. The one principle to hold The MESSAGE system MESSAGE is the seven-stage marketing rhythm behind a full advisory pipeline. You don't need all seven running at once, but it's the map of where each activity fits. IT TAKES 7 TO 12 TOUCHPOINTS A business owner rarely buys on the first contact. It usually takes 7 to 12 meaningful touchpoints before they're ready, moving from stranger to fan. The good news: touchpoints don't all have to be calls or meetings. An owner seeing your client story on LinkedIn, getting a personalized scorecard, watching a 15-minute recording, or reading an email with a relevant case study all count. The channels in this kit are how you stack those touchpoints on purpose. Stage What it does M: Map your market Define your ideal client, their real problems, and the proof you can solve them (the 4 P's). E: Establish your edge Your value, your vehicle (the CLEAR method), and your voice (the 3 V's). S: Shape your story Audience, guide, arc. The 3 A's from Section 3. S: Systemize your funnel Content, Community, a Conversion Event, and the Clarity Meeting (the 4 C's, below). A: Activate your audience Calendar, Channels, Cadence, Content, Call to action (the 5 C's). G: Grow through events Educate, Engage, Elevate, Extend (the 4 E's). See Section 11. E: Evaluate and expand Track the metrics, build on momentum, multiply what works (the 3 M's). Marketing Kit 12 Systemize your funnel: the 4 C's At its simplest, your funnel has four building blocks. Get these four working, and the pipeline runs. A worked example funnel Here is one proven path from stranger to signed client. Adapt the assets to your firm, but keep the sequence: give value, qualify, build trust, then invite the conversation. The 4 C's What it means Content A steady engine of useful content: articles, posts, guides, client stories. Consistency beats perfection (Sections 6, 7 and 8). Community A group of prospects and clients who know and trust you: your email list, LinkedIn network, local circles. Conversion event A signature event that bridges awareness and engagement: the Business Improvement Summit (Section 11). Clarity Meeting The final step, and not a sales meeting. It's the first advisory experience, run through CLEAR. Your Business Diagnostic Review. Step The asset What it does 1. Lead magnet Present Clarity's “7 Reasons Small Businesses Fail” guide, or use your own white-label “Business Health Check” Gives an owner something genuinely useful in exchange for a name and email. 2. Nurture A short email sequence (Section 9) Stays in touch and keeps giving value over the following weeks. 3. Scorecard A short self-assessment, e.g. “How is your business really doing?” Qualifies the owner and gets them curious about their own numbers. 4. Report A personalized summary of their answers Builds trust by showing you understand their situation. 5. Event A web event or Business Improvement Summit (Section 11) Educates and positions your firm as the obvious choice. 6. Clarity Meeting A free Business Diagnostic Review The first advisory experience, where curiosity becomes commitment. HOW THE REST OF THIS KIT MAPS TO THE FUNNEL Sections 5 to 8 (website, LinkedIn, blog, social) create the content and community that fill the top of the funnel. Section 9 (email) nurtures and qualifies. Section 11 (events) is your conversion event. And every section points to the same final step: the Business Diagnostic Review. Section 15 sequences it all into 90 days. Marketing Kit 13 5. Your website Your website is your shopfront. It is where owners land after your LinkedIn post, your email, or a referral. If it doesn't speak to their situation and offer one clear next step within a few seconds, they leave. You don't need a complex site. You need clear messaging, a strong homepage, a dedicated advisory page, and the same obvious call to action on every page: book a Business Diagnostic Review. And don't resell Clarity as software. Showcase your firm and what you do for owners. Homepage hero Your homepage should answer three questions in five seconds: who is this for, what do they get, and what should they do next. Below the hero, structure the page around five blocks: the situation owners recognize, your approach (reference the CLEAR Advisory Map and the 7 Key Numbers), social proof (a client story or two), the offer (your free Business Diagnostic Review and what they get), and the call to action with a direct link to your booking system. We start by reading your 7 Key Numbers, benchmark you against businesses like yours, then build a clear plan to close the gap. How it works It follows our CLEAR process. Marketing Kit 15 Long-form website copy you can adapt If you want to build advisory into the heart of your site rather than a single page, this is a fuller block of copy to make your own. Get found locally Two basics decide whether local owners find you at all. ☐ Claim or create your Google Business Profile at business.google.com. ☐ Use your positioning statement as the business description. ☐ Add “Business Advisory” and “Business Consulting” as categories alongside accounting. ☐ Add professional photos of your team and office. ☐ Ask happy advisory clients for Google reviews, and reply to every review within 48 hours. ☐ Put location-specific words on every page, for example “business advisory accountant in [your town].” ☐ Give every page a unique title and meta description that names your service and location. COPY & PASTE · WEBSITE COPY: CONTROL YOUR FUTURE When you started out, you had a goal and a desire to make a difference. We help you realize it. At [your firm], we are not bean counters reporting on history. We are committed to you and your success. We know how business works and we understand the pressure you are under, and we use your numbers to take the risk out of your decisions. We show you what is working and to do more of it, what is not and to stop, and where you need a new direction, and we measure the results in close to real time. Business can be a lonely place, and most of the people around you don't understand what keeps you up at night. We do. We create the space to think, and then we hold you to account, so the plan actually happens. We can do this because we work differently. Through our partnership with Clarity, our whole team can help you understand your numbers, build a step-by-step plan, and meet with you regularly to grow profitably. That is what a Numbers Mentor does, and it is what your business has been missing. QUICK WIN Search “accountant [your town]” and “business advisor [your town]” on Google. If you are not on the first page, a complete Google Business Profile plus a few well- targeted blog posts will start to move you within eight to twelve weeks. Marketing Kit 16 Press release: announce your shift A partnership, a milestone, a new service: these are worth shouting about, and the local press is often glad of good business news. Keep a list of the business editors at your local titles and send them relevant releases. Here is one to adapt. COPY & PASTE · PRESS RELEASE Headline [Local] accounting firm [Firm Name] launches business advisory to help local owners build better businesses [Firm Name] today announced the launch of a structured business advisory service for small and owner-managed businesses across [area], built on the Clarity NextGen Advisory system. Small business is big business. It makes up the vast majority of all companies and employs most of the private sector, yet around 60% of small businesses fail within their first decade. Most owners have never had affordable access to the kind of advice that would change that. “Historically, real business advice was only ever available to larger companies: bespoke, expensive and slow,” said [Name], [title] at [Firm Name]. “With the right system, we can now bring it to every owner we work with, and involve our whole team in delivering it. We become their Numbers Mentor: the person who knows their numbers and helps them decide what to do next.” [Firm Name] is offering local owners a free Business Diagnostic Review, a focused session that reads the key numbers in a business, benchmarks performance and identifies the biggest opportunities to improve profit, cash and value. Ends For more information, contact [name, email, phone]. To book a Business Diagnostic Review, visit [website]. Marketing Kit 17 6. LinkedIn LinkedIn is most likely where your ideal clients are. Owners, MDs, and founders use it daily, and it is the single most effective free channel for being seen as a Numbers Mentor rather than just their accountant. This section covers the profile, rhythm, posts, and outreach. Optimize your profile Most accountants' profiles read like a CV: qualifications, history, memberships. Owners don't care about any of it. They want to know one thing: can this person help me? Lead with the outcome you deliver. ☐ Lead your headline with the outcome you deliver, not your job title. ☐ Rewrite your About section using the template above. ☐ Add a real headshot, not a logo, and a banner that reflects your advisory positioning. ☐ Put your booking link in the Featured section. ☐ Pin your best advisory post to the top of your profile. COPY & PASTE · LINKEDIN HEADLINE Instead of: Partner at [Firm] | ACA | FCCA Try: Helping business owners make more profit, free up cash and win back time | Your Numbers Mentor | [Firm Name] COPY & PASTE · LINKEDIN “ABOUT” SECTION Most owners I meet are working harder than ever, and the business still depends entirely on them. Revenue is growing, but profit isn't keeping pace. Cash feels unpredictable. And there is no clear plan for what comes next. I help owners change that. As their Numbers Mentor, I turn the numbers into a plan: more profit, healthier cash, time back, and real value in the business. We start with the 7 Key Numbers that drive your business, then build and run a plan to close the gaps. The first step is a free Business Diagnostic Review: a focused session where we read your numbers, benchmark your business and pinpoint your biggest opportunities. If that sounds useful, book directly here: [link]. Marketing Kit 18 What to post, and how often Consistency beats polish. Aim for two or three posts a week; if that feels like too much, start with one. Work across three themes, the same pillars Aynsley uses, adapted for your firm. Twelve posts you can use today Lift these as-is or bend them to your voice. Each one positions you as a Numbers Mentor. Theme What it does The broken model Challenge how advisory usually works, and what a Numbers Mentor does instead. Your core argument. AI and your numbers Why a business owner is better off asking an AI that knows their numbers than a stranger. Sets up Hartley (Section 13). Stories and lessons Client wins (anonymized if needed) and what you have learned. The human behind the firm. THE TWO-LINE RULE LinkedIn shows about two lines before “see more.” That preview is the whole battle. Your first line is the hook; the second must turn or escalate it, never just explain it. Hook, then turn. Never open with “I'm excited to share” or “As a [title].” COPY & PASTE · POST 1: THE WAKE-UP CALL A business owner told me last week he works sixty-hour weeks. His firm turns over two million. So I asked him what his net profit margin was. He went quiet. Turns out he takes home about 8%. That isn't a business. It's a job that owns him. The frightening part is how normal it is. Most owners couldn't tell you their 7 Key Numbers if you asked. And you can't fix a leak you can't see. That is the whole job of a Numbers Mentor: show you the numbers, then help you change them. COPY & PASTE · POST 2: REVENUE, PROFIT, CASH Revenue is vanity. Profit is sanity. Cash is reality. I watch it happen on repeat. An owner grows revenue from one and a half million to three, celebrates, and six months later is lying awake about cash. Growth on its own doesn't make you money. The owners who win pull the levers that actually move profit and cash, not just the one that grows the top line. Know which lever to pull, and in what order, and the business starts working for you. Marketing Kit 19 COPY & PASTE · POST 3: THE EXIT QUESTION Here is a question most owners never ask themselves. If you wanted to sell tomorrow, could you? And would the price reward you for the last ten years? Most owners I meet have built something valuable but not something saleable. There is a world of difference. One is a job with your name on it. The other is an asset. Closing that gap is deliberate work on profit, systems and growth, and it is exactly what we do together. It starts with a free Business Diagnostic Review. COPY & PASTE · POST 4: THE PRICING LEAK An owner I worked with recently had a quiet lightbulb moment. She did great work but had no idea what her pricing should be. So we read her numbers and looked at margin by service line. She was undercharging on roughly 60% of her work. She changed her pricing, and within a month added about forty thousand a year in profit. No extra hours. Same business. The money was already there. It was hiding in a number she had never looked at. COPY & PASTE · POST 5: A HISTORIAN OR A NAVIGATOR Most accountants only look backwards. They tell you what happened last year. But you don't need a historian. You need a navigator: someone who understands what happened, why, and what to do next. The best accountants have already made that shift. They still do the compliance. They have also become their clients' Numbers Mentor, and it has changed how their clients run the business. If yours can't tell you where to focus next, that is worth fixing. COPY & PASTE · POST 6: NAME YOUR SEVEN Every business has a handful of numbers that decide its future. Most owners can't name them. Can you? If I asked you your Gross Profit percentage right now, could you answer? Your Cash Days? Your Revenue per Employee? If you're drawing a blank, you're in the majority, and flying blind on the things that matter most. When you finally see your 7 Key Numbers, you stop guessing and start deciding. The question is whether you want to keep guessing. COPY & PASTE · POST 7: THE FREEDOM TRAP You started your business for freedom. So why are you working more hours than you did as an employee? It is the oldest trap there is. The business hits a certain size and the owner becomes the bottleneck. Every decision runs through them. They can't take a day off without something breaking. The fix is to build a business that doesn't depend entirely on you: systems, the right team, clear numbers. It takes work up front. The payoff is a business that finally gives you what you started it for. Marketing Kit 20 COPY & PASTE · POST 8: SAME ACCOUNTANT, DIFFERENT RESULT An accountant I know switched on a structured advisory approach: a clear method, a real offer, a trained team. Within a single week he had three new advisory clients signed. What changed? Before, he was having vague conversations about “business services.” After, he had a clear offer his clients could see themselves in. Same accountant. Same clients. Completely different result. That is what positioning does. COPY & PASTE · POST 9: PROFITABLE BUT BROKE Profitable on paper, broke in the bank. Sound familiar? It is one of the most dangerous places an owner can be. The accounts show a healthy margin, revenue is growing, and yet the bank account is always tight. The reason is cash, not profit. Growth ties up working capital faster than it comes back. Understanding your Cash Days, how long it takes from spending a pound to collecting it, is the difference between a business that survives a growth spurt and one that chokes on it. COPY & PASTE · POST 10: WHAT A DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW ACTUALLY IS A Business Diagnostic Review is not a sales pitch. It is a focused session where we read your 7 Key Numbers, benchmark you against businesses like yours, and show you exactly where your opportunities are. You leave with clarity and a sense of the one or two changes that would matter most. No jargon, no obligation. If you have ever wanted an honest outside read on whether your business is performing as well as it could, this is it. It takes about forty-five minutes. COPY & PASTE · POST 11: COMPARED TO WHOM? How do you know if your margins are good, average, or quietly costing you money? Most owners have no idea how they compare to businesses like theirs. That is what benchmarking changes. You line your numbers up against your peers, and suddenly the picture sharpens. Maybe you are winning on margin but losing on efficiency. Maybe profit is fine but cash is poor. The comparison shows you where to look. And once you can see it, you can act on it. COPY & PASTE · POST 12: THE INVITATION I have set aside a few slots this month for free Business Diagnostic Reviews. If your business turns over half a million or more and you want to know exactly where your biggest opportunities are, this is for you. We read your numbers, get to know your business, and give you a clear sense of what to focus on next. These go quickly, so if it lands, send me a message. The first step is simply forty-five minutes with someone whose job is to help your business grow. Marketing Kit 21 Outreach that doesn't make people cringe Cold outreach works when it is personal and leads with usefulness. Never open with a pitch. COPY & PASTE · CONNECTION REQUEST Hi [Name], I came across your profile and saw you run [Company]. I work with owners in [area] to help them get more out of their numbers: more profit, healthier cash, and a business that doesn't depend on them for everything. Always good to connect with fellow owners locally. Hope you're open to connecting. COPY & PASTE · FOLLOW-UP AFTER CONNECTING Thanks for connecting, [Name]. I won't be one of those people who connects and immediately pitches. But if you are ever curious how your business stacks up against similar firms in your sector, I run a free Business Diagnostic Review that a lot of owners find genuinely useful. No pressure at all. Hope business is good. COPY & PASTE · ENGAGING WITH THEIR CONTENT Great post, [Name]. [Reference something specific]. I see this a lot with the owners I work with, it usually comes back to one of their key numbers. Happy to share what tends to work if it is ever useful. Marketing Kit 22 7. Blog and content marketing Regular content builds authority and brings owners to you. When someone searches for help with cash, pricing, or growth, your article should be what they find, and when they read it, they should think: this firm understands my world. You don't need to write weekly. One strong article a month, repurposed across your other channels, beats a flood of thin posts. The philosophy comes from They Ask, You Answer: answer the real questions your clients are already asking, honestly and usefully, and you earn the right to their business. Content themes that tie back to your method Twelve article briefs Each is a headline plus a quick outline. Aim for six hundred to eight hundred words, and end every one with the same call to action: book a Business Diagnostic Review. Theme Angles The 7 Key Numbers Which numbers actually decide a business's future, what each one reveals, and what happens when owners ignore them. Profit, not just revenue Pricing, margin by service line, scope creep, growing profit without growing hours. Cash Cash Days, debtor management, why profitable businesses still go bust, building a cash buffer. Time and freedom Systemizing, delegation, owner dependency, building a business that runs without you. Value and exit What drives a valuation, building transferable value, planning an exit on your terms. Benchmarking How you compare to businesses like yours, and how that comparison finds blind spots. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 1: DO YOU KNOW YOUR 7 KEY NUMBERS? Most owners can't name the numbers that decide their future. Introduce the seven, show what they reveal that revenue alone never could, and why watching them together (as a panel) is the real insight. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 2: WHY GROWING REVENUE CAN QUIETLY KILL YOUR BUSINESS Challenge growth at any cost. Show how revenue can rise while profit and cash fall, explain margin compression, and introduce the levers that protect profit as you grow. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 3: PROFITABLE BUT BROKE: THE CASH FLOW PARADOX Explain Cash Days and the lag between spending and collecting. Show how debtor days and stock compound the problem, and the practical fixes that free up cash. Marketing Kit 23 One piece of content, four channels Every article does four jobs. Write it once, then: pull two or three insights into LinkedIn posts (Section 6), summarize it in your monthly newsletter with a link back (Section 9), and use the core idea as a talking point at your next event (Section 11). COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 4: ARE YOU THE CEILING IN YOUR OWN BUSINESS? The signs of owner dependency, why it caps growth and destroys value, and the first moves toward a business that runs without you. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 5: WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS ACTUALLY WORTH? Valuation basics, what really drives the multiple, why most owners overestimate, and what moves the number. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 6: THE PRICING CONVERSATION MOST OWNERS AVOID Undercharging as the silent profit killer. Pricing to the value you deliver, protecting margin from scope creep, and how to audit your current pricing. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 7: FIVE SIGNS YOUR BUSINESS HAS OUTGROWN YOUR ACCOUNTANT When compliance alone stops being enough. What forward-looking advisory adds, framed as a natural next step rather than a criticism. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 8: HOW TO BUILD A BUSINESS THAT RUNS WITHOUT YOU Systems, team and accountability. Why it matters for freedom and for value, with a practical example in each. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 9: WHY BUSINESS PLANS FAIL, AND WHAT TO DO INSTEAD Static annual plans gather dust. The alternative is a living plan reviewed and adjusted regularly, with someone holding you to it. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 10: THE ONE MEETING THAT COULD CHANGE YOUR BUSINESS Describe the Business Diagnostic Review without selling. What happens, what you walk away with, and why forty-five minutes is worth it. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 11: HOW DO YOU REALLY COMPARE? The power of benchmarking. How comparison surfaces blind spots in margin, efficiency and cash, and changes the decisions you make. COPY & PASTE · ARTICLE 12: FROM COMPLIANCE TO A NUMBERS MENTOR The shift from backward-looking reporting to a forward-looking advisory relationship, and what that actually looks like month to month. BATCH IT Block one morning a month. Write the article and draft the supporting posts and the newsletter summary in the same sitting. Batching beats trying to create from scratch all month. Marketing Kit 24 8. Social media LinkedIn is your primary channel. Facebook, Instagram, and X still earn their place for local visibility, brand awareness, and staying front of mind with existing clients. Be realistic about effort: pick one or two and post consistently rather than spreading yourself thin. Posts that work across all three Platform Best for Cadence Facebook Local community, client relationships, event promotion 2-3 / week Instagram Behind the scenes, team culture, visual storytelling 2-3 / week X Industry commentary and quick insights (only if already active) 3-5 / week COPY & PASTE · BUSY VS PRODUCTIVE There is a difference between busy and productive. Most owners we meet are flat out, on the wrong things. What would change if you spent two hours a week working on the business instead of in it? COPY & PASTE · THE PROFIT QUESTION If your revenue grew 20% this year, did your profit grow 20% too? If not, you have a margin problem, not a sales problem. That is fixable, and it usually pays for itself. COPY & PASTE · A WIN HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT One of our clients was giving away more than fifty thousand a year through scope creep alone. One simple change fixed it. The biggest wins are often hiding in a number nobody is looking at. COPY & PASTE · THE EXIT TEST If you wanted to sell tomorrow, what would your business be worth? Most owners don't know, and the honest answer is usually less than they hope. Building value starts with knowing where you stand today. COPY & PASTE · CASH IS NOT PROFIT Profit is what your accountant reports. Cash is what's in the bank. They are not the same thing, and understanding why is the first step to never having a cash scare again. COPY & PASTE · BY DESIGN, NOT LUCK The best businesses don't rely on the owner for every decision. They have systems, clear numbers and a team that knows what good looks like. That isn't luck. It is built on purpose. Marketing Kit 25 A simple monthly calendar COPY & PASTE · SOFT INVITE We have been running free Business Diagnostic Reviews for local owners this month. No algorithm decides who sees it. This section provides four sequences written to be sent as-is. Replace [Firm Name], [Your Name] and [Link], and you are away. Prospect nurture (five emails) For owners who have shown interest, attended an event, downloaded something, connected on LinkedIn, but haven't yet booked a Business Diagnostic Review. COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 1: THE ONE NUMBER MOST OWNERS DON'T TRACK Hi [Name], Almost every owner I meet can tell me their revenue without thinking. Ask them their Gross Profit percentage, and there's a pause. It matters more than they realize. Revenue tells you how much you're selling. Margin tells you how much you're keeping. I have seen businesses growing 15% a year that were quietly becoming less profitable. The top line looked great. The bank balance told a different story. That is one of the most dangerous blind spots in business: you think you're winning while your margin slips, and you can't see it happening. If that strikes a chord, it is worth a look. I run a free Business Diagnostic Review: forty- five minutes where we read your key numbers, benchmark your business and show you where the opportunities are. No jargon, no obligation. Worth a conversation? [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 2: WORKING IN THE BUSINESS, OR ON IT? Hi [Name], I got talking to an owner last week who had just sold his company. I asked him what changed most after the sale. He said: “I can finally take a day off without it falling apart.” That stuck with me, because most owner-managed businesses are the opposite. The owner is the business. Every decision runs through them. Step away and things stop. It doesn't have to be that way. A business that runs without depending entirely on you is built, on purpose, from systems, the right team, and clear numbers. It is very achievable. If you are carrying too much and can't see the way out, let's talk. It starts with a free Business Diagnostic Review. [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] Marketing Kit 27 COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 3: WHAT WOULD ANOTHER HUNDRED THOUSAND IN PROFIT LOOK LIKE? Hi [Name], Most businesses are leaving real money on the table, sometimes fifty thousand, sometimes a hundred thousand or more, sitting there unclaimed. Owners don't see it because they're looking at the business the wrong way. They see revenue and costs, pay the accountant, take what's left. They have never looked at the levers that actually move the result: pricing, margin by service line, Cash Days, Revenue per Employee. Small improvements across those compound fast. One client of mine reviewed three things last year: her pricing (undercharging on most of her work), her scope creep (now captured and charged), and one team process that had been inefficient for years. The result was about eighty-seven thousand in extra profit in twelve months. No extra effort. Different choices. That is the job. The free Business Diagnostic Review is where it starts: we surface those opportunities and show you what's possible. [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 4: WHY MOST BUSINESS PLANS GATHER DUST Hi [Name], Most owners write a plan once a year, if at all, and never look at it again. By March it's out of date. By June it's forgotten. By December there's a new idea anyway. The problem isn't planning. It's that the plan is static while the business keeps moving. What works better is a living plan: something you review regularly, adjust as you learn, and actually use to make decisions, with someone holding you to it. That is what a Numbers Mentor relationship looks like. Not a once-a-year chat. A regular rhythm that keeps you ahead. If you're tired of plans that change nothing, let's explore what a different approach could do. It starts with a free Business Diagnostic Review. [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] Marketing Kit 28 Deepen the relationship with existing clients (three emails) For compliance clients who don't yet use your advisory. They already trust you; they just don't know what else you can do. COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 5: A LAST THOUGHT, FOR NOW Hi [Name], I've shared a few ideas over the past couple of weeks. I hope at least one struck a chord. I know you're busy and your inbox is full, so I'll keep this short. If any of it, the margin blind spot, the freedom trap, the living plan, sounds like your business, a conversation could be worth your time. The Business Diagnostic Review is a focused forty-five minutes: we read your numbers, show you where you're winning and where the opportunities are, and give you a clear picture of what's possible. No obligation, and no follow-up unless you want one. If the timing's not right, no problem at all. If you'd like to explore it, the link is here: [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 1: SOMETHING WE HAVEN'T TALKED ABOUT Hi [Name], We've looked after your accounts for a while now, and I wanted to raise something. Over the years I've noticed patterns in your numbers, opportunities that never show up in a standard set of accounts. The kind of thing that separates a business that's doing okay from one that's genuinely thriving. I don't always mention it, because most accountants don't work this way. But we have moved well beyond compliance. We now act as our clients' Numbers Mentor: helping owners understand their numbers deeply and turn them into action. Given what I see in your business, I think there's real value in exploring this. Would you be open to a free conversation where I walk you through what I'm seeing? [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] Marketing Kit 29 Re-engage dormant contacts (two emails) COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 2: WHAT YOUR NUMBERS ARE REALLY TELLING YOU Hi [Name], Your accounts tell us where you've been. They don't tell us where you could go. That's where the 7 Key Numbers come in: the handful of numbers that actually drive your business forward. Most owners have never looked at them properly. They watch revenue and costs. These seven tell a far richer story, and they show you where the real opportunities are. I'd like to walk you through yours: what's working, where the gaps are, and what's possible if we pull the right levers. Forty-five minutes, free, no obligation. [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 3: THIS ONE'S ON US Hi [Name], I'm running a limited number of free Business Diagnostic Reviews for existing clients this [month]. It's our way of going deeper with the businesses we already look after. Forty-five minutes, entirely on your business. You'll leave with a clear read on your key numbers, how you compare to similar businesses, where your biggest opportunities are, and a sense of what to focus on next. No strings. You're already part of the family, this is just us doing more of what we do best. It's been a while, and I wanted to check in. A lot has changed in how we work with businesses. We've built a structured advisory approach that's helping owners find growth they didn't know was there. Thinking back to our last conversation, I suspect there's real value in catching up: what's changed, what's working, where the opportunities are now. Up for a quick coffee (on me) or a short call? No agenda, just good to reconnect. [Link] [Your Name], [Firm Name] Marketing Kit 30 Monthly newsletter template COPY & PASTE · EMAIL 2: ONE MORE THOUGHT Hi [Name], I reached out last week hoping to catch up. If I haven't heard back, no problem, I know how it gets. I mentioned we've been helping owners uncover growth. One recently found over a hundred thousand in untapped potential just from reviewing pricing and workflow. Another was losing fifty thousand a year to scope creep. These aren't complicated fixes. They're the kind of thing you only spot when someone's looking properly. I'm running free Business Diagnostic Reviews, forty-five minutes that could genuinely change how you see your business. Direct mail In a world of overflowing inboxes, a well-made letter cuts through precisely because so few firms bother anymore. A physical letter signals credibility and effort. Keep it targeted: this is about reaching specific owners with a personal, relevant message, not mass mailouts. It works best for owners you can't reach online, for re-engaging lapsed contacts, for following up after an event, and for adding weight to a high-value approach. COPY & PASTE · PROSPECT LETTER Dear [Name], I'm writing because I work with owners in [area] and I think there may be an opportunity worth exploring. Most owners I meet share the same frustrations: revenue is decent but profit doesn't reflect the effort, cash feels unpredictable, there's no clear plan for the next twelve months, and the business still leans too heavily on them. If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone, and it's fixable. I help owners build a business that works for them. As your Numbers Mentor, we read the numbers driving your business, find where the opportunities are, and build a clear plan to close the gaps. I mention it because, knowing your business, I suspect there are opportunities we could help you uncover. We're offering a free Business Diagnostic Review to reconnect: forty-five minutes entirely on your business, reading the numbers that matter and showing you where the potential is. No obligation. The Drift and Resources The Drift: Why Small Businesses Fail and How to See It Coming, written by Aynsley, is a #1 international bestseller. The Drift earns its place on your team's desk, and that is only half of what it can do. The same book is one of the most effective client-facing tools you have, and a growing number of firms are using it exactly that way. Why gifting the book works Hand a business owner The Drift and you have positioned yourself as their Numbers Mentor before you have pitched anything. The book makes the case for you. It names the seven reasons businesses quietly erode, shows the numbers that reveal them, and explains why the right accountant is the person best placed to help. By the time the owner reaches the last page, the conversation you want to have is the one they want to start. It is also a genuinely generous act, and generosity comes back. A thoughtful gift that helps an owner think differently about their business builds goodwill that no brochure ever will. And a book stays in the room long after you have left it. It sits on a shelf, gets picked up, gets lent to a friend, and keeps your name in front of them. What firms are doing with it ▪Gifting it to their best clients and their most-wanted prospects. ▪Handing a copy to every attendee at a Business Improvement Summit or seminar (Section 11). ▪Sending it with a thank-you note whenever a client refers them. ▪Including it in proposals and onboarding packs, so advisory is framed from day one. Add your own insert Several firms tuck a branded insert inside the front cover: a short personal note from the partner, the firm's logo, and a direct invitation to book a Business Diagnostic Review. It turns a respected, independently published book into a sales asset with your name on the call to action, and the book itself is left untouched. Keep the insert to a single card: a sentence on why you are sending it, and one clear next step. A BOOK IS A BETTER BUSINESS CARD An owner will bin a flyer and forget an email. Almost nobody throws away a book with a handwritten note inside the cover from the person who gave it to them. Marketing Kit 36 Buying in bulk Because so many firms are now gifting The Drift, Clarity has negotiated bulk-purchase discounts with the printer, Ingram. If you plan to use it across your client base, at events, or in proposals, it is far cheaper by the box than one copy at a time. Talk to your Member Success contact for current bulk pricing, lead times, and help setting up a branded insert. Your other client resources The Drift sits at the heart of a small set of resources that work together. Use the lighter pieces to start the conversation, and the book to deepen it. ▪The Business Health Check. A quick, brandable self-assessment that gets an owner curious. Your easiest top-of-funnel capture. This is also available as a scorecard - see The Drift Resources. ▪The 7 Reasons Small Businesses Fail guide. A short, Clarity-branded guide drawn from the book, ideal for download or as a leave-behind. ▪The Drift. The full argument, for owners ready to take it seriously, and for your whole team. The ladder is simple. The Health Check or the guide opens the door, The Drift makes the case, and the Business Diagnostic Review turns interest into a client. Section 4 shows where each one sits in your funnel. Marketing Kit 37 13. Hartley, and talking about AI with clients This is the conversation reshaping the profession right now, and the firms that get ahead of it will win the next decade. Used well, it is one of the strongest reasons a client should choose you. Why now Your clients' accounting software is being built into the AI tools they already use every day. Three moves in six months tell the story: Intuit and OpenAI (November 2025), putting QuickBooks inside ChatGPT; Xero and Anthropic (March 2026), rolling JAX, powered by Claude, to millions of subscribers; and Intuit and Anthropic (April 2026), putting Intuit's apps inside Claude too. Two examples are a pattern, not a one-off. The software layer is embedding itself into every consumer AI surface. Your client no longer opens their accounting package to ask, “What's my cash flow?” They ask an AI, and get an answer straight from their books. The question is whether that answer comes from a stranger or from your firm. The argument that holds Be honest about what these tools do well. Connected to real financial data, they give competent, contextual answers. So the line isn't that the AI is wrong. It is sharper than that. There is a second problem worth naming: sycophancy. Stanford research published in 2026 found that leading AI models affirm a user's decisions about 50% more often than a human would, even when the decision is poor. A generic AI is a confident stranger with no stake in whether your client succeeds. It tells them what they want to hear. A Numbers Mentor tells them what they need to hear, and that is the whole value. THE LINE TO HOLD The platforms can tell a client what their numbers are. They can't tell the client what to do about them. Data and retrieval, not diagnosis and judgment. Decisions need accountability and someone with a stake in the outcome. That is where the Numbers Mentor lives, and always will. Marketing Kit 38 Hartley: your firm's AI advisory assistant Hartley is the answer to give your clients. It is a client-facing AI advisory assistant that connects to their real numbers (via Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or a simple import) and answers grounded in their actual data, not generic guidance. It runs under your firm's brand. It challenges weak assumptions rather than simply agreeing. And it escalates to the right person at your firm by name when a question needs a human. Crucially, it is built on the same frameworks you use: the 7 Reasons, the 7 Key Numbers, the 5 Levers, and CLEAR. Keep two products straight. Numina is your internal assistant: it helps your team prepare for advisory conversations. Hartley is the client-facing one: it extends the advisory relationship into the moments between meetings. Same methodology, different jobs. Never describe them as the same thing, and never call Hartley a chatbot. How to talk about it Don't say Say instead AI chatbot / bot / tool AI advisory assistant Our AI / Clarity's AI (to a client) Your firm's AI advisory assistant Powered by AI / AI-driven Connected to your real numbers, built on the frameworks we use Handles everything automatically Escalates to your team when it should Smart / intelligent answers Honest, grounded answers DON'T LEAD WITH THE TECH AI is the “and it's powered by…” moment, not the headline. Lead with the methodology and the outcome. Let Hartley be the proof that you've thought about how your clients actually work. Marketing Kit 39 Ready-to-use AI content COPY & PASTE · LINKEDIN POST: THE STRANGER Business owners are already asking AI about their cash flow at 11pm. The only question is whose AI? A generic tool will give them a confident answer with no idea who they are and no stake in whether they're right. Research out of Stanford this year found that these models agree with users about 50% more than a human would, even when the decision is a bad one. That's not advice. That's a stranger telling you what you want to hear. Business owners deserve an AI that knows their actual numbers, works with a real method, and tells them the truth. That's what we give them. COPY & PASTE · EMAIL LINE FOR CLIENTS You now have access to Hartley, your firm's AI advisory assistant. It knows your numbers, it works within the same framework we use together, and it'll point you to me when a question needs a proper conversation. Ask it anything about your business, any time. It is one more way we've got your back between our meetings. COPY & PASTE · TALKING POINT FOR MEETINGS When a client mentions ChatGPT: “Great that you're asking the questions. The catch is that a general AI doesn't know your numbers and has no stake in whether you get it right. Hartley does, and when it matters, it brings me in. Let's get you set up.” Marketing Kit 40 14. Referrals and client stories Your best marketing asset isn't a post or an email. It's a happy client telling someone else about you. Referrals convert faster, cost less, and start from trust. This section helps you generate them on purpose and build the case studies that sell for you. Build a referral habit 1. Identify your top 10 to 15 (advisory) clients, the ones who value what you do and would happily recommend you. 2. Have the conversation: “We're looking to help more owners like you. If you know anyone who'd benefit, I'd love an introduction.” 3. Make it easy: offer to draft an intro email they can forward, or suggest a joint coffee. 4. Follow up. If they mention someone, gently ask again in a couple of weeks. People are busy, not unwilling. 5. Thank them. A note, a bottle, or simply acknowledging it. Gratitude fuels generosity. Referral scripts COPY & PASTE · AFTER A STRONG ADVISORY SESSION I'm really pleased with the progress we've made, and the numbers show it. I'm curious, do you know any other owners wrestling with similar things? I've got some capacity for new advisory clients and I'd love to help more businesses like yours. Even an informal introduction would be brilliant. COPY & PASTE · AT A REVIEW MEETING Before we wrap up: we're always looking to work with more businesses like yours. Marketing Kit 42 Collect testimonials well ▪ Ask at the peak of enthusiasm, right after a breakthrough or a great review meeting. ▪ Be specific: “Would you share a sentence or two on the impact our advisory work has had?” beats “can you write us a testimonial?” ▪ Capture the number. “We added 67 thousand in fees” beats “great results,” and name the lever that did it. ▪ Get permission to use their name and firm. Named testimonials are far more credible. Proof you can point to These are real Clarity member results. Notice the pattern: a clear starting point, then a specific mechanism, not just a happy ending. When you write your own, do the same. “At the Accelerator I booked seven client meetings by the Thursday, sold a 22 thousand advisory engagement on the Friday, and generated another 44 thousand the Monday I got back. I simply ran a different conversation with clients I already had.” Matt McConnell, Pulse Accounting · solo practitioner, no prior advisory “After three years of trying to force advisory to work, I booked six client meetings before I'd even left the event, and generated 22 thousand within weeks.” Paul Miller, Cornish Accounting Solutions “Two Clarity events. The first produced 60 thousand within seven days and tripled our profitability inside a year. The second generated 33 thousand so far. The structure is what made the difference: we ran the meeting properly.” Graeme Tennick, Tennick Accountants “Three meetings and three conversions in the month after the Accelerator. We packaged advice we'd been giving away into 4 to 9 thousand pound programs.” Kim Marlor, Krystal Klear Accounting · specialist niche firm “A traditional practice that had plateaued. Through the Academy we added 120 thousand of profit in six months by changing pricing and running structured advisory.” Penny and Jonathan Rowden Marketing Kit 43 15. Your 90-day plan, and ongoing rhythm If the kit feels like a lot, that's normal. You don't need to do it all at once, and you shouldn't try. This plan sequences the work so you build a marketing engine without burning out. Follow it in order. Month 1: build your foundation ☐ Define your messaging and positioning statement (Section 3). ☐ Update your homepage with the messaging framework (Section 5). ☐ Create or refresh your advisory services page (Section 5). ☐ Set up or optimize your Google Business Profile (Section 5). ☐ Optimize your LinkedIn profile: headline, About, Featured (Section 6). ☐ Write and publish your first article (Section 7). ☐ Set up your booking system for Diagnostic Reviews. ☐ Identify your top 10 referral sources (Section 14). Month 2: build your content engine ☐ Establish a weekly LinkedIn rhythm: aim for two posts a week (Section 6). ☐ Send the first nurture email to your prospect list (Section 9). ☐ Write and publish your second article, and repurpose both into posts and newsletter content (Section 7). ☐ Post two or three times a week on Facebook or Instagram (Section 8). ☐ Send the “deepen the relationship” sequence to existing compliance clients (Section 9). ☐ Have referral conversations with five of your top clients, and collect two testimonials (Section 14). THE ONE NON-NEGOTIABLE If you do nothing else this month, rewrite your LinkedIn profile and publish one post. It costs 30 minutes and it's where your clients already are. The firms that grow advisory fastest aren't the ones with the biggest budgets or the slickest sites. They're the ones that show up consistently, with a clear message, and make it easy for an owner to take the next step. You've got the message. You've got the content. Now go and help owners build businesses that work for them. Marketing Kit 45 16. Your next steps Read The Drift (Clarity Business Press, 2026). For accountants, it really sets out the challenges our clients face, the numbers that reflect those challenges, why business advisory is important, the role you can play as a Numbers Mentor, the frameworks to do so, and why systems are so important. The Drift should be compulsory reading for your entire team (even those not directly involved in your business advisory delivery). Look at your 90-day plan in Section 15 and get started. Don’t wait for perfection. 80% is good enough in this case. Prolific beats perfect from a marketing perspective. And we can never know what will work perfectly in advance. Test and measure everything. Contact your member success team member to discuss how Accelerator (and Academy) can help and the next dates. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your Member Success contact or email hello@clarity-hq.com. Finally, have fun with it! Marketing Kit 46
